Glasgow based multi-instrumentalist and producer Nathan Syed-Tollan releases double single, 'Groundbreak Heartache' and 'Welcome Home' under his Stolen Content moniker. Recorded in Glasgow's legendary Green Door Studios, the tracks mark a different approach to recording for Stolen Content, all live instruments recorded straight to tape as opposed to his usual bedroom production, "I didn’t look at a screen the entire time - which as someone who has made pretty much all of my previous stuff in front of a computer was really liberating." On both tracks Nathan croons over melancholy piano pop ballads, dreamy almost doo-wop tunes that explore the meandering meaninglessness and empty promises of life in your early twenties, particularly post-lockdown. Here Nathan describes the inspiration behind the two tracks, "'Groundbreak Heartache' was one of the first tracks I wrote after moving back up to Glasgow after lockdown. It was early February, I hadn’t found a job yet and was quickly burning through savings and dopamine. The track is basically just a few minutes of me feeling sorry for myself. 'Welcome Home' was the first track I wrote moving back with my parents at the beginning of lockdown. I couldn’t sleep one night and started writing the lyrics on my phone notes. I was thinking a lot about wasted opportunities caused by my general laziness and malaise." -Toby Evans-Jesra
